Teaching paediatrics through clinical reasoning

I design teaching sequences in which objectives, activities and assessment are aligned. My Master's degree in education sciences, focused on instructional design and assessment, underpins this approach.

Typical sequence

From a real case to independent practice

  1. 1

    A real case

We start from a filmed or described clinical situation, never from a lecture.

  2. 2

    Observe

Video analysis of infants and children with a structured observation grid.

  3. 3

    Practise

Hands-on practice in pairs with immediate feedback from the trainer.

  4. 4

    Transfer

Building your own reference points for practice and checking what has been learned.

Active but guided learning: students reason through cases, with explicit scaffolding at first that is gradually withdrawn.

Modules for entry-level programmes

Neuromotor development and early detection, infant asymmetries, cerebral palsy, gait analysis and orthoses, intensive therapy.

Assessment and supervision

Examiner in the OSCEs (ECOS) of the Grenoble physiotherapy school. Supervisor of physiotherapy students' final dissertations in Lyon.

Plan a session

Tell me your audience, the topic and the format you have in mind. I will reply with a tailored proposal.
